Welcome
Seeking help and finding the right therapist can be overwhelming especially if you are feeling out of balance, facing changes in relationships, managing symptoms of anxiety or depression, or if life has lost meaning for you. I work with clients to create strategies, develop tools, and uncover personal strengths that bring the healthy balance back into their lives. I bring a depth of experience from years of work in a tertiary mental health and addiction hospital in Toronto, Ontario. I am privileged to be a therapist. My clients describe me as "easy to connect, open, warm, genuine, real, and effective."
I have extensive training and experience as a registered psychotherapist for over 19 years in treating anxiety, panic attack, depression, grief/loss, trauma, emotional pain, relationship difficulties, life transitions, anger management, stress or burn out, excessive drinking, drug use, gambling, gaming or technology overuse. I also offer consultation to parents, families and friends affected by loved ones behavior (gambling, gaming, technology over use), addiction and mental health issues.
My approach to healing is holistic (exploring physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of someone's life) and integrative, drawing from various therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavior therapy, brief solution focused, motivational interviewing, psycho dynamic, and mindfulness perspectives and much more. Every person is unique, not one approach might fit all people. Therefore, I tailor the treatment strategies in collaboration with you, your needs and goals.
My role is to support you and help you explore the issues that prevent you from living a fulfilling life to also become aware of the solutions and choices that are within you . I provide a supportive and warm environment for clients to safely explore challenges, conflicts and issues to achieve better emotional, mental, physical and spiritual health and satisfying personal relationships. I help you recognize your own innate power and wisdom, with more understanding of yourself, your situation and your choices in order to have a more fulfilling, balanced and inspiring life.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
It is my belief and professional experience that people grow through difficulty. Choosing to participate in therapy means taking time in your life to think about, feel, and integrate parts of your life and your self. On a neurological level, this allows you to create healthy pathways in your brain which can replace problematic ones (neuroplasticity).
Therapy helps you to mature as a person, realize what is possible, and finally let go of pain. Although it may be challenging to enter this process, the reward is deeply fulfilling. I see people heal all the time and it is the best part of my job.
